ABOUT MATTHEW

From The Sunshine State
Born and raised in Miami, FL, Matthew’s passion for theatre was first sparked after watching West Side Story. Being the only boy of 8 siblings and a proud Nicaraguan Latino, he was drawn to the idea of dance as a drive for storytelling as well as the athleticism and the gentle ferocity that comes with it. He then began taking dance classes and training full time; pulling inspiration from titans of the industry like Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, Mikhail Baryshnikov, and Donald O’Connor.

DISNEY CRUISE LINE

There, he has worked as the company’s Male Swing and Dance Captain; covering as many as 24 tracks across all three MainStage shows (Tangled, Twice Charmed, Disney Dreams). He has loved bringing magic to families both onstage and off as well as getting to travel the world performing.
